About 228 COE House
SMOC is a multi-service community organization established in 1965 as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty. The organization provides resources for social change to improve the lives of those served and strengthen communities in which it operates. SMOC operates across four main service areas: MetroWest, Central Massachusetts, Western Massachusetts, and Lowell. The organization includes SMOC Behavioral Healthcare, which serves individuals, children, and families with a variety of services and programs including substance use treatment. SMOC also operates South Middlesex Non-Profit Housing Corporation, which owns and manages over 1,300 units of affordable housing. Additional services include Early Education programs, Family Services, Energy and Financial Assistance, and Regional Services addressing housing, financial stability, nutrition, and parenting support.
