AIDS Center of Queens County is Queens' largest provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy services, serving over 12,000 HIV-positive clients and 30,000 community residents throughout the borough. Founded in 1986, the organization enhances the quality of life for individuals and families living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions. Services include comprehensive medical care through AHF Healthcare Centers, health home case management coordinating medical and mental health services, a homeless youth drop-in center, HIV and STI prevention education, housing assistance for homeless or at-risk individuals, behavioral health outpatient mental health services, legal services, harm reduction and syringe exchange programs, and pharmacy services. All services are provided at no cost to clients. The organization operates three locations in Queens: Richmond Hill-Jamaica, Woodside, and Far Rockaway.
