1. Close your WSOP Online account
Support channel: Contact the platform's official support channel. Most sportsbooks offer live chat inside the app plus an email address.
- 1Open the app or sign in on a desktop browser.
- 2Go to Account → Settings → Responsible Gaming (or similar menu).
- 3Choose Self-Exclusion or Account Closure. If only "Cool-Off" appears, contact support to request permanent closure.
- 4Withdraw any remaining balance. Platforms typically refund after closure, but processing can take 7-14 days.
- 5Confirm via the email the platform sends. Save the confirmation.
2. Enroll in your state's self-exclusion registry
Closing your WSOP Online account does not stop you from signing up elsewhere. State self-exclusion binds every operator licensed in your state, typically for a minimum of one year. It's the step that actually keeps the door locked.
Find your state's self-exclusion program →3. Block the app on your phone
Deletion is not enough. Apps can be reinstalled in seconds. Gamban, BetBlocker, and phone-level restrictions (iOS Screen Time, Android Family Link) all make reinstalling much harder. Hand the passcode to someone you trust, not yourself.

Closed accounts are a marketing problem for operators. Expect outreach. Being ready for it matters.
- →Push notifications about promos around major sports events.
- →Email bonus offers sent after cooling-off periods expire.
- →Cross-app promotions when a platform also offers casino or DFS.
Get recovery support
Closing one platform is the start, not the solution. Gambling disorder is a behavioral addiction recognized in the DSM-5, and it responds to real treatment — CBT, peer support, medication management in some cases, and community.
