Great to meet you

A Brighter Day Behavioral Health Center is a CARF accredited outpatient substance use disorder program providing treatment to individuals diagnosed with substance use and co-occurring disorders, as well as individuals at risk for the development of these conditions. The program's mission centers on nurturing healing, growth, and self-discovery to promote long-term recovery. Licensed clinicians use evidence-based, person-centered treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, cognitive processing therapy, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, dialectal behavior therapy skill-building techniques, and mindfulness-based interventions. The program employs a contingency management framework that emphasizes rewarding progress and offering supportive treatment rather than confrontational approaches.

Addiction

Evidence-based approaches

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. A structured trauma therapy that helps the brain re-file painful memories so they stop hijacking the present.

MI

Motivational Interviewing. A collaborative conversation that strengthens your own reasons for change rather than arguing you into it.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Pairs acceptance with change. Especially useful when emotions feel too big to ride out without acting on them.

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention. Practices noticing urges without acting on them, building the gap between trigger and choice.

Contingency management

Contingency Management. Evidence-based reinforcement approach: small, immediate, tangible rewards for verified abstinence and engagement. Strongest evidence base of any non-medication intervention for stimulant + gambling disorder.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic Therapy. Explores the older patterns and unconscious dynamics underneath the surface behavior. Slower than skills-based work, deeper on the questions of why you reach for the thing you reach for.
